Service Description
This 5 session course is ideal for those with a little previous experience who would like to take their art to the next level. Over the course of 5 weeks, we will cover everything you need to know about creating portraits. We'll go over the proportions of the face and how to draw the head from different angles as well as from the front. How to draw each of the features, along with some different hairstyles. We'll also revise basic colour theory and learn how to mix flesh tones both in acrylic and watercolour. In the last two sessions you will create a portrait from a photo of your choice. By the end of the course you will have a greater knowledge of how to confidently draw faces that will help you draw portraits long after the course finishes. Materials will be provided but where possible you are encouraged to bring your own supplies if you have them. You may also wish to bring along an A3 plastic folder or similar to take your work home. Workshops take place in the Deall Room, Southwick Community Centre, 24 Southwick St, Southwick, BN42 4TE (Please note - class includes a 15 minute break. Biscuits are included in the course price and teas/coffees are available to purchase from the cafe should you so wish - or bring a flask!) This listing is for the whole 5 week course. Alternatively you can book single sessions by selecting the "Individual Class" listing or by texting me on 07772541346. I look forward to seeing you there!
