ABOUT ME
Originally from Ireland and now living in West Sussex, I create oil paintings that explore the inner world of childhood, memory, and the complex emotions of motherhood. I use symbolism and elements of magic realism to create pieces that feel both familiar and dreamlike. At the heart of my work is a deep curiosity about the relationships we form with inanimate objects, particularly special toys - the way they can become characters in our lives, holders of stories, and vessels for love. So much history in their squishy, scruffy little bodies!
Motherhood changed me in all sorts of ways - bringing overwhelm and anxiety along with the deepest love and joy. Painting helps me make sense of it all. My art is a way for me to process my experiences, to heal, and to create connection.
I hope my work makes people feel something—maybe a little nostalgic, maybe a little seen. Maybe they'll think of a toy they loved, or remember a moment from their own lives. Either way, I want them to know they’re not alone. We’re all just trying to figure it out.
