Sketching Your World - Southwick Community Centre: Fridays 10.30am - 1pm (5th June - 3rd July)
Sketching Your World – Southwick Community Centre
UPCOMING DATES: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th June and 15th July
This five-week course focuses on recording the world around us in everyday life, encouraging you to build a regular and enjoyable sketchbook practice. Learning to doodle, sketch, and paint what we see not only develops artistic skills and confidence, but also supports mental and emotional wellbeing.
Each week we’ll explore a different aspect of observational drawing, including people, trees, and buildings. Through a mix of structured exercises and playful experimentation, you’ll try a range of approaches to help you loosen up, explore ideas, and grow your skills. Every session builds on the last, helping you gain confidence with both materials and creative thinking.
Weather permitting, we’ll make full use of the Southwick Community Centre’s beautiful garden area and do some sketching in and around the cafe and other spaces.
Led by a qualified art teacher and professional artist with over 18 years of experience, this mixed-ability class is perfect for anyone interested in making art, including complete beginners.
